'Made of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 16 months in 60% new French oak, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Benchland Series has a medium to deep garnet-purple color and bold crème de cassis, baked blueberries and plum preserves scents with suggestions of cigar box, cloves and fragrant earth plus a waft of bay leaves. Full body, tightly wound tannins and a medium-long finish. 'Dark plums, blackcurrants, cassis, blackberries and lots of bark, toasty oak and baking spices. Full bodied, it has a firm backbone of ripe tannins and copious amounts of layered black fruit on the lingering, savory finish.' -winemaker The wine slowly unfurls with time, coaxing out hints of clove, bay leaf and worn leather. Intriguing and complex, palate follows the aromas. Deep garnet in color, bold aromas of Crème de Cassis, blueberry syrup and plum compote are presented against of backdrop of earthiness. This full-bodied, luscious Cabernet Sauvignon displays intense, concentrated fruit flavors and layers of complexity. 'This Benchland Series wine is crafted from select blocks on our William Hill Estate vineyard.
